The Tibetan Terrier A Bringer of Good Luck.
The Tibetan Terrier is not really a terrier at all. It
does not possess any terrier characteristics like going to
ground. Some say that the Tibetan Terriers were bred and
raised by Lamas in the sacred Tibetan Monasteries. They
were highly valued as great companion pets and thought to
bring good luck and therefore these dogs were never sold
in order not to tempt fate. Instead they were given as
gifts as a reward for special services.
Tibetan Terriers are a healthy breed and well equipped
for cold snowy winters with their "snowshoe-like" feet and
profuse, fine, but never silky or wooly, long double coats
which come in many color combinations. They are
spirited, intelligent, sensitive , loyal, devoted and
affectionate tending to bond to one person.
