Lhasa Apso Dog A Harbinger of Good Luck.
The Lhasa Apso dog is said to have originated in Tibet
about 800 BC, making it one of the most ancient of breeds.
There, it is recognized as "Abso Seng Kye" the "Bark Lion
Sentinel Dog". It was its duty to guard the monasteries and
homes of high ranking officials from within the buildings,
and to bark a warning of intruders.
The Lhasa Apso is a good watchdog, suspicious of strangers,
but loyal and loving with its family. It is easily trained and
responsive to kindness. Its long, straight, hard coat should
have some daily grooming to prevent tangles and matting. If
you are looking for a companion pet, great for the city or
country, consider a Lhasa Apso puppy. A short daily
walk satisfies its exercise needs.
