Lakeland Terrier "Move Over, I'm Here"
The typical Lakeland Terrier is bold, gay, and friendly,
with a self-confident cock-of-the-walk attitude. Shyness,
especially shy-sharpness, in the mature specimen is to be
heavily penalized. Conversely, the overly aggressive,
argumentative Lakeland is not typical either, and such
temperament, should be discouraged.
The Lakeland Terrier is a small workmanlike dog of
square, sturdy build. He stands on his toes as if ready to
go, and he moves, lithe and graceful, with a straight-ahead,
free stride of good length. The Lakie has attitude and
good looks which serves him well at dog shows.
The Lakie's coat is double, hard and dense. It should be
stripped to maintain its texture and appearance. He makes
a very good family dog and companion. He loves to go for a
good daily walk which satisfies his exercise needs. |
