Portuguese Water Dog A Web-Footed Swimmer and Diver.
The Portuguese Water Dog, being a swimmer
and diver of exceptional merit, was very highly prized by
fishermen for his many contributions at sea. He possesses
a robust, medium build that allowed for a full days work in
and out of the water. He was used to retrieve things that
had fallen into the sea, and broken nets, and often
carried messages to and from shore.
The Portuguese Water Dog is a non-shedding,
non-allergic animal of spirited disposition, self-willed,
brave, and very resistant to fatigue. He is of exceptional
intelligence and a loyal companion who obeys his master willingly and with apparent pleasure. He is an active dog requiring lots of regular daily exercise. He is
