The Field Spaniel Sound and Free-Moving.
The Field Spaniel is a combination of beauty and
utility. Symmetry, gait, attitude and purpose are more
important than any one single part. The Field Spaniel is a
fun-loving, independent and very intelligent dog, with a great
affinity for human companionship. It has a noble carriage, a
very proud but docile attitude. Somewhat reserved at first, any
shyness, fear, or aggression is to be severely penalized. Today's
Field Spaniel is an able hunting dog, a bird dog, very adept at
flushing birds and retrieving them. It also does well in
competitions, Spaniel field trials.
A Field Spaniel likes to get outside for a romp and some
excercise four or five times a day. It sheds an average amount
and so, should be groomed at least once a week. A Field Spaniel
makes an excellent choice for a family dog because, it loves
children, is very affectionate and playful, and it bonds
to the whole family. It gets along well with other
pets. As a watchdog, it is also very good.
