He is an indomitable foe and cannot be surpassed
as a watchdog and companion.
The typical Kerry should be upstanding, well knit and in good balance, showing a well developed and muscular body with definite terrier style and character throughout. Black when puppies, the coat color changes to shades of blue
gray, or gray blue by the time he is mature, around
18 months. His coat is soft, dense and wavy.
Dog: 18 - 19.5 in. (45.7 - 49.5 cm) at withers.
Bitch: 17.5 - 19 in. (44.5 - 48 cm).
Weight is 33 - 40 lb. (15 - 18.2 kg), Female less.
