The working dogs, used as guard dogs, search and rescue dogs, and
many other chores, have proved themselves immensely valuable to mankind over the
centuries, hauling carts, guarding livestock and families, life saving in cold waters and
deep snow avalanches being but a few chores so easily handled. Many generations of
selective breeding, have produced these dogs collectively known as the rugged
